Inspired by a real family visit to Morehead Planetarium—where Apollo astronauts once trained—these stories spark imagination, curiosity, and meaningful family connection, helping children grow into confident young creators.

In 2018, our family visited the Morehead Planetarium—the same place
where astronauts once learned to navigate by the stars.
That moment became the beginning of something more.

Why This Matters for Your Child
Today, many children spend more time consuming than creating.
Without the right kind of stories, they miss the chance to imagine, express their ideas, and connect in meaningful ways.

Develop creativity and critical thinking
Express ideas with confidence
Build deeper, meaningful family connection

Grow into a confident young creator
Built Through Real Family Experience
Through this storymaking journey, my boys realized they could DO THINGS THAT MATTERED. They weren’t just learning—they were CREATING SOMETHING MEANINGFUL.
It gave them a safe space to SHARE ideas, BUILD their own world, and GROW in confidence. And more than anything, it created something rare—real conversations where we talked WITH THEM, not AT THEM.

Why I Created These Stories
Rick Williams: Scientist, Entrepreneur, Grandfather, Storymaker, and Guide
What started as a simple idea—to create stories with my grandchildren—became something much bigger.
I saw how storytelling helped them think, imagine, and grow. And I wanted other families to experience that same connection.

A Growing Community of Young Readers
What began as storytelling with my own grandchildren has grown into something more.
Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with other young readers—Story Apprentices—who help explore ideas, review stories, and take part in the creative journey.
Their imagination, feedback, and perspective have become an important part of shaping these stories.
Perfect for families who want to start creating right away.
The Storymaking Journey
